I’ve written and re-written this so many times that it’s out of sequence with the rest, fuck it, i’m posting it now instead…
This is a tough one for me. Either Optimus Prime or Spider-man.
Optimus Prime:
For me growing up as a child, Optimus Prime reprsented everything good and noble in the world. He would stand and fight for anyone who wasn’t in a position to defend themselves, never for personal gain, never because he had been told, simply because he could and it was right.
Strong, reliable and smart, he could turn the tide in any battle just by being there.
Also having a built in lightsabre axe earned him a couple of extra awesome points
Spider-man:
As a kid i identifieid with Spider-man so much (still do), an unpopular geek who try to make the best of things despite life continuing to deal him one crappy hand after another.
Superman never captured my imagination back then, he struck me as a god who pretends to be a regular guy whereas Spider-man has always been a geek trying to be a hero. He can be hurt, he can bleed, he is vunerable to anything anyone else is, yet still throws himself into all these crazy situations day after day.
I mostly loved the idea of such a unassuming guy getting such cool powers, given the chance i would love to be Spider-man for a day. If i ever hear of any laboratories working on irradiated spiders i’m gonna break into the fucking place and steal the lot!

Guyver:
Gotta give repect to my all time favourite Japanese superhero, Bio Booster Armor Guyver. I wanted to find one of those control medals so badly as a kid, everytime i walked though the woods near my house i’d be imagining about stumbling across an accidentally discarded medal in the undergrowth like Sho Fukamachi did, lost after some brutal fight between the Zoanoids, gaining the powers of the Guyver, and kicking some serious ass. That suit was just awesome, you didn’t even need to be awake in it to win fights! Not even Batman can claim to be able to hand out beatdowns to his enemies while asleep.
